I was quite saddened to see Chris Rollins’ photo included, as the last frame, on the
In Memoriam presentation at the reunion. Who has the facts on his passing ?
I saw him one afternoon in 2005 – he was in the process of moving to Colorado.

I was also saddened to see Chris Rollins in the memoriam. If anyone has information on him and his family would like to know. His family and my family attended San Ann Church together. Also I really missed the very bubbley friendly Marebeth Trembly Gordon. I don’t know when she passes away but I truly missed her at the reunion.

Mark, I remember you as one of Chris’ friends – believe you came on one of our family vacations to Newport Beach. Chris had a difficult life and I don’t know what he told you. He died while living in a Veteran’s Home in Santa Ana, CA. I got a call that he passed peacefully in bed with the TV still turned on. He worked at the vet home helping with admissions and paperwork and had said a few days before his death that he had some pain in his stomach but did not see a doctor. The autopsy report stated that he had died from cancer of the bowls – apparently the tumor ruptured and he died immediately. The coroner told me it was reported that he looked peaceful and had not suffered. He was cremated and ashes buried at sea.

      • Richard Harris

Hello Carol. I’m not sure why Chris came to mind but I googled his name and found this posting. You and Chris and I grew up on Cedar Avenue and got into lots of fun and trouble. We were May (deceased 2005), Del (deceased 2003), Barbara, Darrell (deceased 1989 of a drug overdose) and me. Not sure if you will get this memo, but you might wonder what happened to the Harris family. Barbara is alive and well and lives part of the year in California and the other part in Kansas. I am also alive and well and live in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. We are both retired and very happy. I was very sorry to read about Chris. And the sad part for me was that he had a troubled life. He was always so bright and energetic when we were growing up. I guess the real reason for this post is just to say Hello. So, Hello Carol, I hope life is treating you well.

  2. Carol Mattoon

I we to Lindbergh Elementary and Hosler as well as LHS. John played trombone. He was always a good friend.

  3. Bill Moore

Butch Britton was my friend along with John Frost and John Frazier. Butch was a paratrooper and special forces in Viet Nam. We wrote to one another in Viet Nam until i didn’t hear from him anymore. I assumed he had died over there. But in helping with this reunion i found out Butch was living in Lynwood until 2001. Butch is buried in Riverside National Cemetery. I miss him as well as i miss John Frost and John Frazier.
